The 2006 Pontiac GTO is a 2-door, 4-passenger sports coupe, available in one trim only, the Coupe. Upon introduction, the GTO is equipped with a standard 6.0-liter, V8, 400-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 21-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is optional. The 2006 Pontiac GTO is a carryover from 2005.
